The 30-second version

I run two analytics tools on this site — Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. They help me understand which pages people read, which links get clicked, and where to improve. Both are off by default. They only load after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner.

I don’t sell data, run ads, or share anything with marketers. If you’d rather not be counted, click “Decline” on the banner (or use the buttons further down this page) and you’re done.

What I collect (when you say yes)

• Page views — which pages you visited and in what order.
• Click events on contact links, case studies, articles, and the resume button.
• Browser, screen size, country — the standard stuff GA4 collects by default. IP addresses are anonymized.
• Heatmaps and session recordings via Microsoft Clarity — this records cursor movement, scrolls, and clicks (no keystrokes, no form contents). It helps me see where people get stuck.

What I don’t collect

• No personally identifiable info unless you email me directly.
• No cross-site tracking. I don’t know what you do on other websites.
• No ad targeting or remarketing. Google Ads features are turned off.
• No data sales. No data sharing with marketers, recruiters, or anyone else.
• Nothing typed into a form is recorded by Clarity. Form fields are masked.

How long the data is kept

• Google Analytics: 14 months (GA4 default for this property).
• Microsoft Clarity: ~1 year for session recordings, longer for aggregate metrics.
• Both can be deleted at my request, and you can request your own data be deleted — see “Your rights” below.

Your rights

• Withdraw consent at any time using the buttons below.
• Ask what data has been collected about your visits and request deletion. Email nvpai97@gmail.com with “Privacy request” in the subject.
• Opt out of GA4 directly using Google’s Analytics Opt-out browser add-on.
• If you’re in the EU/UK and believe I’ve handled your data badly, you can complain to your local data protection authority (e.g., ICO in the UK, CNIL in France).

Hosting and third-party services

• The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log basic request data (IP, user agent) for security purposes. This is separate from the analytics above.
• Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Google may log the request for caching and CDN purposes.
• Email is handled directly via mailto: links, not a third-party form processor. Anything you email me lands in my Gmail inbox.
